When we start learning or singing a song we should be proper to sing in a particular pitch or sruthy.
So first we exercise our vocal cords by singing just Shadjam and Panjamam according to a particular pitch or sruthy selected.
Shadjam and Panjamam are called as Prakruthi Swaras as in all ragas they remain the same, where as rest all aksharas(swaras) have deviation.
Everyone may select their convenient pitch or sruthy using a Tampura / Sruthybox or any Sruthy delivering means.
